Project: PARACHUTE (Part I)
The objective of this project is to build a parachute made out of fabric of a max. length of 40 cm when deployed. We are going to test your parachute during class time. The parachute must have a load like a real parachute.
You are free to select the fabric and in order to design the parachute you must look for information

MOVIE (groups of 2/3)
You are going to create a movie using the iPads (not more than 4 minutes) that illustrates the importance of science in real life. You have to select a topic and expand it. Look in your book and select an topic that you are interested. The names of all students must be shown with their contribution to this project.
Before you start the movie, you have to prepare a script (look for information related to scripts)
Guidelines
1. The topic must be related to our science 10 studies
2. The length of the movie is between 3-4 minutes properly edited. You can not use another movie as part of your own movie.
3. All members of the team must talk in the movie without a paper. You have to memorize your script
4. The credits must show your name and what did you do in your movie.
5. The final grade is based on the quality of the movie, the science concept and the creativity you used in producing your movie.
Submit a copy of the script (handwritten)

MOVIE (groups of 2/3)
In biology, diversity refers to the variation of life forms present in different ecosystems. Its scope includes the following: 1) Genetic diversity 2) Ecosystem diversity 3) Species diversity 4) Crop diversity and 5) Functional diversity.
Species diversity is defined as the number of species and abundance of each species that live in a particular location. For example, in a forest we might find 20 different birds, 50 plants and 10 mammal species.
How many species do you think live on Earth? Scientists estimate around 5 to 30 million but only 1.8 million have been identified and among them 1 million are insects!
THEME FOR THE MOVIE: CELEBRATING DIVERSITY AT QE
Our movie (3 to 4 minutes) will celebrate human diversity at our school. Our diversity is around us in different backgrounds, cultures, languages, customs, and traditions. You will start your movie explaining how diversity is important in biology and reviewing some related concepts such as keystone species, evolution, natural selection and adaptation.
Your movie will show through examples, interviews and expressions how rich and diverse our school is. Follow the guidelines for your first movie.
The first step is to prepare your scrip which will be handed the day when you present your movie. Be creative!

MOVIE (groups of 2/3)
The task is to create a movie that answers some particular questions about science. The movie will follow the same format of the other movies and the topics were given during class time. Don't forget to use teaching aids.

CHEMICAL ROCKET (Individual project)
The purpose of this project is to illustrate a chemical reaction with the production of substances starting from reactants. The fuel will be produced from the combination of vinegar and baking soda. Your rocket must look like a rocket (including cone and fins) to behave like a rocket. Due to safety reasons, the rocket must have a stand (you can not hold the rocket with your hand before launching it)
Top marks will be giving to rockets to reach a minimum of 12 feet (up)
